Editorial

 This month sees an exciting development in the history of the Society for Endocrinology, and for its Company, the Journal of Endocrinology Ltd, in the launching of a new Journal, the Journal of Molecular Endocrinology. Under its Editor, Dr Barry L. Brown, and a distinguished international Editorial Board, this launch recognizes the tremendous pace of advance of the cellular and subcellular aspects of our subject. Such rapid growth clearly justifies the expansion of the publication activities of the Society for Endocrinology, in order to present a new forum for publication which reflects the importance which we recognize in these developments. As a sister journal of the Journal of Endocrinology, its presentation and style will show its relationship and its lineage; editorially, however, it will operate quite independently.

To ensure a speedy worldwide recognition of this venture, subscribers to the Journal of Endocrinology will at first receive copies of the new
